The Golden Avio F30 experimental light sport
aircraft the last design from legendary aviation designer
Stelio Frati. We first saw te Golden Avio F30 at the U.S.
Sport Aviation Expo in January. Factory representative Luca
Ferragatta told us at that time, that he was in the process
of finding a U.S. distributor for the F30. At the E.A.A. Sun
N Fun convention he announced that he now has a distributor
set up and that the aircraft and that he is now in the
process of obtaining light sport aircraft approval which is
expected by Airventure.
Luca indicates that the factory will be making some small
changes to the market to better fit the U.S. market. The
headroom in the cabin will be increased to better fit taller
pilots, and a step will be added to the rear of the wing to
allow easier entry and exit from the craft. The F30 has
already been certified in Germany, which has some very
stringent standards. The F30 is an all metal aircraft, with
some components made from Titanium.
Power is supplied by the Rotax 912 100 HP series of engines.
This gives the F30 a cruise of 108 to 110 knots. Stall with
flaps is 35 knots. The F30 carries 21 gallons of fuel giving
it a range of 750 miles. The interior of the F30 is very
similar to what you would expect to find in a high end
luxury car.
