While at the E.A.A. Sun-N-Fun convention we had a chance to talk to the the new distributors for the BushCat from AeroSport Aviation Jeremy and Daniela Knoll about their low cost BushCat light sport aircraft built by Skyreach Aircraft in South Africa.

Aerosport Aviation is now distributing the BushCat in the U.S. and can supply BusCat light sport aircraft fully built or they offer a builders assist program for those wishing to build the BushCat as an experimental amateurbuilt aircraft.

The BushCat light sport aircraft features aluminum tube, bolt together construction covered in pre-sewn dacron envelopes. Building times for a first time BushCat builder are in the 250 hour range. The BushCat features standard three axis controls, dual throttles located on the armrests and has a center mounted stick, and flap handle. Ground handling is via a steerable nosewheel. Cruise on the BushCat is in the 100 mph range, stalls with flaps just under 35 mph and 40 mph. without.

The BushCat is the value leader in light sport aircraft category with a fully assembled and equipped aircraft with a Rotax 912 ULS engine priced at $65,000! Other models start at less than $50,000.00.

The BushCat is also available in kit form, in a taildragger version and can be equipped with straight or amphibious floats. Daniela reports they have already made two sales and are in the process of finalizing a third.
